Happy Saturday! I don't know about you, but I am ready for warmer weather. I am dreaming of sunshine and lake life! If you are like me, you are already planning your summer getaway. I am so excited to be going back to Dale Hollow Lake this summer for another family vacation. It has been a tradition in my family since my mom was a little girl. I have a lot of great memories growing up on Dale Hollow Lake. I plan to pass the tradition on to my kids one day. If you are looking for the perfect place to go, I highly suggest Dale Hollow Lake. It is a beautiful clear lake with multiple docks/restaurants to visit, great fishing, and plenty of space for boating activities. If you like camping, there are several campsites available to rent on Dale Hollow Lake. If you prefer to move around and explore, there are many different houseboat options available. If you prefer staying on land, there are also many different places to rent a cabin/chalet or a hotel room. There are options available for everyone, which is why Dale Hollow Lake is perfect for a family or group vacation. I prefer to stay on land when I go. My family and I rent a cabin with a view of the lake. We usually stay in a cozy cabin tucked away in the woods. That way we get the best of both worlds. Being in a cabin also makes it easier to travel on land if we need to get groceries or find something to do on a rainy day. There are a variety of places to travel near the lake. There are historic sites like the Cordell Hull Birthplace & Museum State Park and the home of Alvin C York. I personally like to visit nearby towns and businesses. It is a great area to visit as you are able to travel between Kentucky and Tennessee. You can also drive around and explore different docks. My favorite dock is Sunset. It is famous for its beautiful sunset. It is also famous for being featured in a country music video. Luke Bryan visited the dock last summer to film his new song, "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset," and it drew quite the crowd. It is no secret why he chose Sunset dock for his new song. It is the perfect lake destination!
For my family, we like to do a variety of things. For the guys, they like to fish morning and night. That is the part they enjoy the most. For the women, we like to explore the docks and spend time on our favorite island. We might even go fishing a time or two. Then for some of us, we like to spend time boating and tubing. Whatever the case may be, we all love just being on the water and enjoying the sunshine.
